Occasional Speaker Series by the School of Business and
Marketing

Encik Adzhar
Ibrahim receiving his souvenir from Dato Halim after the
lecture
" He was just
fantastic. Not only did he get the message across but he also
imparted so many new concepts on marketing and human resource
management that we cannot find in our text books. He is totally
confident and so relaxed. I think he is one of the best speakers I
have come across," said Kelvin Nathan, a final year UEL
International Business student.
That statement summed
up the majority opinion of the audience that heard the lecture of
Encik Adzhar Ibrahim, Head of Human Resource Department of DiGi.
He came in his orange T-shirt with the 'Smile' emblazoned on it.
Besides wearing jeans and a fuzzy beard Adzhar immediately related
with the crowd as he sauntered into the auditorium and started
speaking.
His lecture touched on
how DiGi took bold steps in human resource management and
marketing to rebrand the image of the company. The topic of his
lecture " Building the
Organisation to Deliver the Brand" was held
at the Auditorium of Stamford College Petaling Jaya Jalan 223 on
12 December 2007.
Encik Adzhar Ibrahim from Digi is the
Head of the Human Resources Department of Digi. He has presented papers in a number of
International Labour Organisation (ILO) seminars and conferences
locally and abroad.

Some 20 students from College of Architecture,

The students were welcomed with a short introduction to Stamford.
After some icebreakers by the Stamford Student Council, the
students were treated to a typical Malaysian lunch. "The food is
very spicy but extremely delicious, it is full of flavour" said
Jeung Moo, a Korean student. After the sumptuous lunch, the Korean
students joined Stamford students to a friendly basketball and
futsal game.
A T-shirt drawing session was also part of the
cultural exchange programme. Everyone was given a white T-shirt
and they were allowed to paint on it and present it to their
friends. A Malaysian and Korean cooking demonstration was also
part of the programme. The students enjoyed the Malaysian
delicacies such as roti canai and teh tarik while
Stamfordians enjoyed many of the delicious Korean dishes.
"This event proved to be very beneficial and
