Stamford to launch Stamfordonline programmes

The Deputy Minister of Education, Malaysia, Y.B.Dato' Noh Bin Haji Omar will launch Stamford College's Online Learning portal, Stamfordonline, on Monday 3 September 2007 at 2.30pm at Stamford College PJ Jalan 223. The new portal will offer Stamford full time and part time students online support for their courses progressively. The portal will also be beneficial for schools and the community at large as it will also provide an opportunity to obtain academic support and qualifications through online learning.

In 1951, Stamford College was the first college to offer correspondence courses in Malaya. At that time it provided students who wanted to pursue higher education a convenient and affordable method of learning. The move towards e-learning and even m-learning (mobile -learning) has now taken hold in the country.

Stamford with this new partnership with NetAcademy( a leader in e-learning) will now provide students this new and innovative channel to students who need higher education.

" This is a great honour for the Stamford Toastmasters Club. We are glad that we have achieved this recognition from the International Toastmasters Club. The Club was formed to assist students and staff to be able to speak and present their ideas and proposals in a confident manner to any audience. The response to the Club has been overwhelming and this is an indication that they are willing to better themselves. Most organisations today place a premium on graduates who are good and confident in making presentation, " said Mr Choo.
