Teachers' Day - A Day of Appreciation for Stamford Staff.

In conjunction with Teachers' Day on 16 May 2007, Stamford College held a "Teachers' Day Luncheon" for its staff. This has been an annual event for the past five decades at the college. Staff from other Stamford campuses were invited as well to this event. It was an opportunity for staff to mingle with one another.

Dato Hj Abdul Halim, the Executive Chairman of Stamford College spoke on the importance of the teaching faculty in the education sector and his appreciation for the Stamford staff.

Best wishes from Dato' Halim on Teachers' Day

"Educators play a very important role in shaping todays society, they are every students aspiration. Without teachers there would not be a generation of inspiration."

He added that teachers today face many challenges especially in higher educational institutes where they may have a variety of nationalities together. They have to cut across language barriers and cultures to reach each and every one of them.

" We have today at least students from 40 over countries at our campuses and that brings a new dimension to learning in the classrooms. We need to ensure that all these students return to their respective countries with a sound education".

The Chairman later gave lecturers souvenirs as a token of appreciation for their work.

Lunch was served later.
