OBJECTIVES
The objectives of the course are to enable students to: 1. Understand the principles of public relations. 2. Analyse the functions of public relations in todayメs society. 3. Understand the techniques of effective PR.

LEARNING OUTCOME
At the end of the course, the student should be able to: 1. Explain the importance of PR in modern organizations. 2. Describe the principles and functions of PR. 3. Demonstrate understanding of methods and techniques of PR writing. 4. Demonstrate understanding of the principles of research and data collection.

SYNOPSIS

This unit is a basic introductory unit to public relations. The unit examines the development of public relations, what it is and what it does, the theory behind successful PR practice, PR in action and the tools a practitioner will use for effective PR.
