OBJECTIVES
The objectives of the course are to enable students to: 1. Demonstrate on understanding of concept and terms in media. 2. Able to assess the impact of media on society. 3. Evaluate the impact of media in society

LEARNING OUTCOME
At the end of the course, students will be able to: 1. Demonstrate an understanding of concepts and terms in media. 2. Evaluate the impact of media on society. 3. Apply basic theories in media and coomunication. 4. Understand the different principles of controls applied on media studies. 5. Evaluate the impact of IT on media.

SYNOPSIS

This is an introduction module to media studies. It aims to introduce students to major perspective of media studies. These perspectives are then used to analyse the relationship between media and society.
