OBJECTIVES
The objectives of the course are to enable students to 1. Understand the various broadcast media available and how this differs to the print media. 2. Understand how broadcast media in Malaysia has evolved over the years.

LEARNING OUTCOME
At the end of the course, students will be able to; 1. Identify the roles and functions of electronic media as opposed to the print media in the communication industry. 2. Understand the history and development of broadcasting industry in Malaysia. 3. Demenstrate an understanding of the importance of current issues in relation to the development of international broadcasting and electronic digital media. 4. Present research findings on issues pertaining to broadcasting and its impact on society. 5. Write scripts for news, short features and magazines.

SYNOPSIS

Broadcasting is one the key communication elements in the Mass Communication field and is generated through radio, television and film. The unit examines the process of changes in behaviour and its impact on existing values in the society. The course also seeks to develop the practical as well as supervisory skills, which are necessary for the broadcasting industry.
