OBJECTIVES
Objectives are to:
- Follow safe and correct working practices for shorthand note taking and transcription.
- Apply the theory of the chosen shorthand system and develop speed of note taking.
- Use
any system of shorthand to write verbatim notes of a variety of
business documents from dictation at 30 - 60 words per minute.
LEARNING OUTCOME
Upon completion of this unit, students will be able to:
- Accurately transcribe verbatim shorthand notes, using a typewriter or a word processor.
- Produce three business documents in a 1 hour transcription test from material dictated at 30 - 60 words per minute.
