module will enable the student to organisational Foundations of
Information systems; Technical Foundations of Information systems;
Building Information systems: Contemporary Approaches; Management and
Organisational Support Systems; Managing Contemporary Information
Systems
LEARNING OUTCOME
Upon completion of this subject, learners should be able to:
- identify the inputs and outputs in business information systems
- identify and describe the data required in business information systems
- describe the role of business information systems in an organisation
- identify problems commonly found with business information systems
- explain he ethical and social impact of the information systems
- explain the processing of the computer systems
- define concepts of an information infrastructure and apply
strategies and tools for implementing, accessing and using information
systems
- differentiate and understand the role and function of various

computer hardware, networking, programming, database and web
