OBJECTIVES
This module introduces the concepts of business statistics that will enable students to utilise statistical approaches as well as comprehend and analyse the results appropriately for business purposes.

LEARNING OUTCOME
On completion of this module, the learner should be able to:

  • demonstrate the learnerメs ability by applying statistical methods for the study of business
  • solve problems analytically
  • have a grounding in probability theory and some grasp of the most common statistical methods

SYNOPSIS

This subject covers types of statistics, data and measurement, data presentation, measures of location and variation, simple correlation and regression analysis, time series analysis, index numbers, probability and normal probability distribution, sampling, basic estimation and hypothesis testing of up to two means and two proportions.
